Job Summary: Senior Financial Analyst supports the Cepheid’s Commercial organization and plays an important role to ensure the fiscal health of commercial activities while positioning the Company for the achievement of financial targets and optimal revenue positions and has a huge impact on business performance.
This role is directly involved with coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), the preparation of periodic reporting packages and analysis for use by the Sales and Marketing organization and Corporate leadership.
The incumbent must be comfortable working with shifting priorities and lending finance expertise within diverse work assignments.
The incumbent will be analytical, innovative and detail oriented with excellent communications skill and significant experience advising cross functional leaders in Sales and Finance management and in the execution of effective and efficient business policy and processes.
Responsibilities: Partner with the Non Acute Commercial organization to develop budget and forecast for the business.
Lead strategic and operational implementation and partner with IT and Sales Operation functions to integrate holistic and sustainable business systems and processes.
Support sustainable growth as an advisor to the Commercial team on customer acquisition models, pricing strategy and marketing initiatives.
Partner with the Commercial organization to interpret financial information, evaluate operational and workflow effectiveness and participate in stream lining organizational activity and reporting.
Develop performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances and support the creation and reporting of financial KPI’s or CVDs for the commercial division as applicable.
Use appropriate metrics and forward-looking modelling tools to help Commercial team enhance their financial and operational performance trends.
Actively engage and contribute to long term planning & strategy and constantly seeking to value-add to current process, information system, and business growth.
Prepare and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis requested by Executive management and department leaders as needed to support the business.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience: An undergraduate degree is required (Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area preferred).
MBA and/or CPA preferred 8 years of experience in a similar role.
Knowledge and skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups), Access, SQL and/or VBA Excellent problem solving Adept at tackling cross functional problems and routinely influence partner organizations Excellent oral and written communication skill Ability to multi-task and work independently Highly analytical, strong attention to detail and an ability to set and meet tight deadlines.
