Our engineers deliver loosely coupled software components and microservices integrated in cloud environments. We are passionate about using Agile development and DevOps principles to enable modern, standard methodologies for delivering solutions. We build software to automate, optimize, manage, and maintain those services; driving down technical debt, operational cost, and toil every step of the way.We are looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer to join us at one of these locations: Seattle (WA), Boulder (CO), or San Francisco (CA). In this position, you will play a key role in building automation, standardization, operations support, incident handling methodologies and tools to implement and support world-class products; design, build, and maintain infrastructure, services and tools used by our developers, testers and CI/CD pipelines. You will champion efforts to improve reliability and efficiency in these environments and explore and lead efforts towards new strategies and architectures for pipeline services, infrastructure, and tooling. When necessary, you are comfortable wearing a developer hat to build a solution. You are passionate about automation and tools.Primary Responsibilities· Work with multiple teams to design, implement, and maintain tools, services, and infrastructure used in product development, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.· Work on automating operational aspect of the services running in the cloud.· Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered in its entirety.· Ensure DevOps infrastructure and services maintain the required level of availability, security, reliability, scalability, and performance.· Build operational monitoring and alerts for lab solutions to track problems and identify areas of improvement.· Function as a subject matter expert to internal and external partners and stakeholders.· Act as a leader, mentor, and influencer on the DevOps team.· Research new technology areas, innovations, and ideas.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities· Experience with deploying infrastructure and services in one or more cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware vSphere.· Experience with configuration management and deployment automation tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, etc.· Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.· Proficiency with Makefile.· Proficiency with git.· Solid understanding of Linux OS.· Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like GitLab-CI.· Experience with container (Docker) and orchestration systems (Kubernetes).· Good understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, HTTPS, VLANs, DNS, load balancing, firewalling, etc.· Experience with tools to collect and visualize data, building dashboards, alerting and monitoring systems.· Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and designs.· Demonstrable ability as an excellent communicator and collaborator who can work well with teams and engineers across different sites.· Experience working in an Agile development environment preferred.Qualifications· Bachelor’s (or higher level) degree in one or more of these disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields· 8+ years of professional experience as a DevOps engineer or similar roleThe Job Description is intended to be a general representation of the responsibilities and requirements of the job.
