You will be part of the Systems Engineering team responsible for helping rollout the new CI/CD templates and Infrastructure Framework to a development teams.

You will be closely collaborating with engineering teams to understand their current architecture and release process and make recommendations on best practices and help migrate the applications already on the cloud or migrating from a datacenter to the NEW Pearson Development Pipeline and Infrastructure Framework.

Your efforts in the rollout of the frameworks will directly impact in the speed and agility of the development teams.

You enjoy simplifying challenging problems and can articulate the solution to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The individual must continuously seek and capture feedback opportunities and bring it to the Framework development team to help improve the solution and stability of the framework.

You will work closely with the Engineering team, Quality Assurance, Security Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers to improve automation, and adoption of CI/CD best practices.Responsibilities Champion the Build/Release Engineer (DevOps) needs for continuous integration and continuous Delivery while maintaining focus on Quality of Service via a governing process Champion the DevOps needs in creating and managing server infrastructure while maintaining focus on Quality of Service Improve the existing Build/Release Engineer process.

Review existing automation, identify opportunities to improve overall productivity and investigate tools that might speed up the process or make us more efficient in build/ release management.

Design, implement & enforce DevOps Best practices, establish standards and policies for managing source code and continuous integration/delivery.

Administer and write code to support the Build/Release Engineer tool suite.

Troubleshoot build, packaging, and component management issues, working with the core Engineering and Technical Operations teammates to resolve them.

Monitor the automated build and continuous integration process to ensure correct build execution, and facilitate resolution of build/ release failures.

Familiar with Micro-service architectures.

Decoupled systems and how to build them.

Detail-oriented, with excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.

3 years automated software build, deployment and operational support 3 years working on Amazon Web Services (AWS) is required.

AWS certification is a plus Strong programming and scripting experience, with a preference for Python and bash Experience with Object oriented programming languages like Javascript, Java or similar Experience with containerization (Docker, etc.) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, etc.) in deployment and operations Experience with configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible or an equivalent Experience with Cloud Security, CISO compliance A good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Solid Experience with build/continuous integration tools (Jenkins or similar) and version control repositories (Git.

CVS etc ).

Strong Linux (RedHat/Cent OS) operating and systems knowledge Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Must have self-starting personality, unafraid to display initiative and innovation on the job.

Solid understanding and experience working with high availability, high performance, multi-data center systems.

Experience working with Agile teams and SCRUM process in a faced paced environment.
