Harrogate, Tennessee MON Harrogate, Tennessee Position Details Position Title Programmer Analyst Report Writer Department ACADEMIC COMPUTING Position Category Staff Full Time Job Description This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Universitys administrative computing systems including Ellucian Colleague, MOX Mobile Application, Pathway, and WebAdvisor applications.

In addition the position will be responsible for all institutional pre delivered reports.

All report writing will be accomplished using SQL, Informer, Bussiness Objects and other software packages as required.

The position is responsible for the development and maintenance of programs.

It provides solutions of a programmable and non-programming nature utilizing experience with Ellucian Envision, Blackboard, XML, Java, Microsoft Visual Basic, C++ and web authorizing tools.

Assists with the implementation of IS projects and serves as primary backup to the Systems Analyst in the installation of software patches and upgrades.

Additional support in the operation of the software is required and other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent experience in a programming technical discipline; Able to work independently and as part of a team; Ability to independently anticipate and analyze situations, define problems and objectives, recognize viable alternatives and formulate solutions; Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including technical documentation; Able to learn and absorb new information, both technical and procedural.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor degree in a related discipline; Five years experience working with technology resources in a high-volume environment; Experience administering and maintaining relational databases; Experience with multiple report writing programs; Experience with Ellucian and Envision programming; Experience with Unibasic and Unidata; Experience with instructional technology methodologies and Blackboard; Experience with UNIX-based operating systems; Experience in an educational institution or education-related environment Physical Demands Campus Harrogate Job Duty: Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large; Job Duty promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students; Job Duty participate on university committees; Job Duty Maintain, modify, upgrade and improve administrative applications, both transaction and web based; Job Duty Assist users in operating the administrative software packages including troubleshooting issues; Job Duty Consult with users to determine needs; Job Duty Develop software design specifications; Job Duty Create new applications and resolve problems; Job Duty Customize and create reports using UniBasic, UniQuery, Envision Toolkit, web tools, and other software development tools; Job Duty Plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software; Job Duty Documents procedures and software changes; Job Duty Maintain a professional helpful attitude at all times; Job Duty Creates and maintains web based applications and materials in support of the Institutional Effectiveness requirements of the University; Job Duty Assists in the development of test scenarios and training materials; Job Duty Assists Business Analyst in training end users on software changes and enhancements; Job Duty Assists in implementation of the Disaster Recovery Program; Job Duty Assists in completion of required institutional and program accreditation reports; Job Duty Some travel may be required for training purposes; Job Duty Must be willing to work on weekends and off hours to correct serious errors and/or implement new features that are too risky to install during standard business hours; Job Duty Performs other duties as assigned.
