Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Product Developer – Customer Brands Tissue, Towel, & Napkin for our Technical Center in Neenah, WI.
This is a position within the Retail Product Development teams where you will drive product design and new product innovation on our customer branded tissue, towel, and napkin products.

The Technical center is located in Neenah, WI.
Neenah is in the heart of Northeast Wisconsin (also known as the Fox Valley) and is within driving distance to popular metro locations including Milwaukee, WI, Chicago, IL, Madison, WI and Green Bay, WI.

What You Will Do In Your Role
Design, experiment, evaluate, and execute alternatives to create long-term product roadmaps based on understanding of technical capabilities, consumer/customer unmet needs and market trends
Connect market and consumer needs to product design, performance, alternatives, and set technical specifications/limits on final product design
Work with business stakeholders, consumer research and technology platform to drive year-over-year cost/product improvements in TTN commercialization by maximizing volume, minimizing waste, and optimizing SKUs in the portfolio
Mitigate technical risk by designing and analyzing experiments, coordinating, and conducting mill trials, and collecting consumer/market feedback on new TTN product designs
Develop Intellectual Property strategies that include landscape investigation as well as the creation of invention disclosures and patent applications by partnering with the Legal team
Solve complex problems, by exercising critical thought and approaching data analysis and potential recommended paths forward with a creative and open-minded approach
Provide technical advice on claims, data substantiation, and overall product points of view to our business leaders, operations, manufacturing, sales, and marketing teams
Improve our R&D organizational performance by continually developing subject matter expertise and coaching/educating our technical community
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Paper Science or Engineering or at least 5 years of product development experience in paper products
Able to travel an average of 25%, both domestic and international (for a “typical” year, travel will be less while COVID is a consideration and limited to critical activities)
Three (3) or more years’ experience in product development
Experience working in an R&D environment with demonstrated results independently leading commercialization efforts of new products, product development activities, and scaling up to commercial feasibility
What Will Put You Ahead
Advanced Engineering Degree (M.S.) in Engineering or Paper Science
Experience in project management
Ten (10) or more years’ experience in product development (preferably in paper products)
Experience in Tissue, Towel or Napkin product development, papermaking, or converting
Experience building product strategy and innovation pipelines
Experience with SAP (PLM/MDG)
