What you’ll be doing…
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be working on the design, development and testing of next generation software for Internet of Things (IoT) products and Multi-edge Edge Computing (MEC).
Lead the architecture and technical implementation of large scalable IoT systems.
Work with product development interfaces like Product management, Systems Engineering, Program management, various development teams, DevOps, QA etc.
Take up end to end responsibility for big product enhancements and features that are planned.
Collaborate and translate requirements from product management into engineering tasks.
Be responsible for interfacing with the management for planning and providing regular status updates.
Participate in the technical evaluation of platforms and technologies, tools, architecture and design, performance analysis as well as vendor selection.

Verizon's IoT and MEC division of the product development organization is looking for talented software professionals who are seeking a challenging career in cutting edge technologies like Edge computing and Internet of Things.
We expect the candidate to be self-driven and motivated who can take up end-to-end responsibilities of customer facing products.
You’ll need to have:
This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Five or more years of work experience in Product Development.
Extensive experience working in cloud-based software development.
Experience in programming languages Go, Java and frameworks like Spring.
Working experience in RDBMS like PostGres or MySql.
Working experience in NoSql technologies like MongoDB, Cassandra and Redis.
Working experience with message brokers like Kafka and RabbitMQ.
Extensive experience in every aspect of softwaredevelopment life cycle.
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering fields.
Ability to translate product requirements into development goals and work breakdown.
Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills.
Deep understanding of distributed Cloud Native Microservices principles and best practices.
Hands-on development experience with AWS cloud.
Experience in CI/CD process.
Proficiency in various database technologies like Cassandra, MongoDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL.
In-depth knowledge in Cassandra.
Know-how of one or more search engine technologies like ElasticSearch or Solr.
Experience with networking protocols or standard IoT protocols.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.
If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the compensation range for this position is between $129,000 and $240,000 based on a full-time schedule.
The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience.
This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more.
For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
