CALCULEX is a leader in developing state-of-the-art equipment for the acquisition, recording, routing, and processing of instrumentation quality data, often supporting developmental and operational testing of military and commercial airborne systems.

CALCULEX, Inc.

is seeking PC Application software engineers with the following education, experience, and skills:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • One to three years of experience in software development
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Programming languages (Java, Visual C++)
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies

Software Engineer Skills:

  • Ability to work independently or as a member/leader of a software project team
  • Ability to collaborate with hardware developers and manufacturing test teams
  • Ability to write efficient, well-structured and well-documented code
  • Complex problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Analytical troubleshooting and effective communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Software Engineer Job Responsibilities:

  • Design PC applications that operate CALCULEX hardware/firmware systems by o Sending commands to and receiving status from the systems
    • Generating parameter files to configure the systems’ optional features
    • Communicating with the systems via multiple signals and protocols
  • Design PC applications that test CALCULEX hardware/firmware systems by o Generating and sending specific data to the systems’ I/O ports
    • Receiving and recording real-time output from systems under test
    • Validating the real-time output data and data recorded by the systems
  • Develop test plans and procedures to validate the designed PC applications
  • Code the designed PC applications and support verification testing of the code
  • Execute code builds and generate simulations as required for code verification
  • Investigate and correct deficiencies in existing code
  • Collaborate with hardware/firmware product development and marketing teams
  • Support user documentation development and user training for software products
  • Investigate and resolve user-submitted problems and questions
