Provide Oracle DB, UNIX, Linux, and Oracle WebLogic support.
Provide administrative support of Oracle standalone (11 and 12) database environments.
Apply updates and patches to Oracle instances.
Provide on call support for applications as requested.
Research and analyze emerging Oracle database technologies, techniques, and protocols.
Provide ongoing progress to leadership, system owners, and peers regarding health of the various Oracle environments.
Requirements
Install and configure Oracle across different OS including Linux, Windows Server, and Unix,
Basic monitoring and tuning
– Assure the performance of an Oracle database.
Check if the right index is being used, and rebuild indexes and tables if necessary to remove fragmentation.
Backing up and recovering databases
– Ensure continuity and availability of the database.
Use Oracles native backup and restore features and other third-party tools.
Basic understanding of database security issues
– Should be aware of roles, profiles, user accounts, object and system level privileges, and related concepts.
Database design
– Be familiar with is DB normalization, at least up to the third normal form.
Knowledge of DBMS series of packages
– Understand the purpose behind the DBS series of packages that come bundled with Oracle.
SQL and PL/SQL
– Use PL/SQL to create jobs or stored procedures or to query underlying system tables.
Security+ Certification
MA/MS with 10+ years related experience OR BA/BS with 12+ years
