Job Description:

The Defense Group at Leidos has an immediate career opportunity for a Network / Systems Engineer at Fort Eustis, Virginia. (Near Newport News, Virginia).

This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to support the Army Training Information System (ATIS) Deployed Digital Training Campus (DDTC) program for the United States Army. 

DDTC is a portable, Warrior Information Training System, which can be setup at any deployed Soldier location around the world.
The training campus is a completely self-contained system with 20 laptops, Internet and satellite accessibility.
The system can also provide video tele-training and it is designed for Soldiers to conduct structured self -development courses, advanced leader course phase one common core, correspondence courses, and any other program in the Army e-Learning catalog and the Army Learning Management System (ALMS).

Primary Responsibilities:
The Network Engineer shall be responsible for overall network engineering support for a broad range of programs including planning, designing, and evaluating various components of the network.
Duties include providing specifications for network architecture, system administration, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments.
Support level duties may include monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of network equipment.
Communicates with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources).
Requires working knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of technical domain. 
Responsible for implementing and maintaining Deployable Digital Training Campuses (DDTCs) for the U.S. Army. 
Assist Lead Communications Engineer with resolving communication issues with DDTC sites, tracking system requirements, and assist with system upgrades and improvements.  Other primary responsibility includes supporting DDTC Video Tele-Training (VTT), on-site training, Tier2 Help Desk, and other duties as necessary.
This position requires interaction with military, other contractors, and U.S. Government personnel. 
Develops instructional documentation. 
Lifting up to 50 pounds is required for equipment movement and setup. 
Travel may be required to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Basic Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree,
 or Masters with less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
Must have an active Secret Clearance.
Must be US Citizen.
Remote working location not available.
DoD 8570 IATII Certification (Security+ or Higher).
Experience in Network Configuration.
Experience in DoD Information Assurance (IA).

Preferred Qualifications: 
Experience with Military Wideband SATCOM systems.
CISSP.
CISCO Certification.
Experience with Cellular/Satellite Modem Implementation through Commercial and DoD networks.
Experience with RF VSAT or SNAP experience.
Experience with TDMA IP or iDirect experience.
Experience with VMWare and/or VMWare Certification.
Experience Developing and Maintaining Risk Management Framework (RMF) IA Support.
