Job Summary The Managerof Software Development is responsible for one or more development teams madeup of Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers and Business Analysts.

The Manager is responsible for a set ofapplications and allocating resources across multiple Scrum and/or Kanban teamsto deliver new business requirements and fulfill regular maintenance demandsfor those applications.

PrimaryResponsibilities Creates and maintains resource level and staffing plans to meet business project requirements.

Provides high-level oversight to Scrum and Kanban teams, helping to ensure priority items are delivered in a timely manner with a focus on business value and quality.

This includes providing regular updates to senior leadership on key milestones and deliverables.

Participates in regular checkpoints with business product owners, enterprise architecture team and other application development managers to determine the priority of projects that have been requested.

Directs support activities to keep system applications running in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment, utilizing sound judgment and critical thinking skills, and demonstrating leadership and a sense of urgency.

Establishes and maintains a strong business partnership with internal users and external customers to fully understand and meet their technological needs.

Drives and contributes to the development, modification and attainment of strategic and tactical goals.

Performs budget management duties, including budget forecasting, adhering to departmental budget, and budget variance reporting.

Analyzes current and new processes to identify the most efficient and inexpensive way to complete the objectives.

Evaluates and recommends new and future technology to improve organizational effectiveness and customer service, reduce costs and provide a competitive advantage.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
· BA degree incomputer science or business, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Experience
· 7 years of increasingly responsibleexperience in the field of software development and/or technical projectmanagement.
· 3 years management experience following astructured development methodology.

Minimum 1 year in a management role.

Essential Skills
· Proven track record of hiring, developing,coaching and motivating staff.
· Proven expertise in effectively managingactivities on small to medium sized projects.
· Knowledge of system development anddevelopment tools associated with specific areas of responsibility.
· Strong communication skills, including theability to speak and write clearly and concisely.
· Demonstrated ability to drive change.
· Extensive financial business systemsknowledge, preferred.
· Experience with vendor software solutions,preferred.
· Experience managing global teams in anon-shore/off-shore/virtual model, preferred.
