About the team

PayPal’s Consumer Credit team is responsible for the Revolving credit products that play a vital role in fulfilling PayPal’s mission to democratize financial services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a mobile engineering team by hiring exceptional talent, coach, retain and develop team members
• Care deeply about code craftsperson ship and quality, bringing an enthusiasm for using the best practices of scalability, accessibility, maintenance, observability, automation testing strategies, and documentation into everyday development
• Collaborate with multiple mission team leads to scope, plan, design, and build new features and maintain existing functionality in a fast-paced agile environment and ensure long term goals are not compromised
• Partnering with product, technology, program management and analytics stakeholders to balance ambitious roadmap against engineering principles
• Lead and participate in technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across the organization to drive right decision-making for the long term
• Lead by example and hold your teammates and yourself to high engineering standards and advocacy instilling a sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability
• Develop efficient processes, ensuring the engineering team is operating with high velocity, and always look for opportunities to continuously improve and become better every day

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in leading mobile engineering teams
• 6+ years of experience developing consumer mobile applications
• Solid understanding of coding standards and guidelines with great attention to performance, scalability, and availability
• Experience turning strategies and plans into reality, partnering with product and design to scope, plan and prioritize work with a commitment to continuous improvement of yourself, your teammates and our software
• Eagerness to share your ideas, and openness to those of others.

  Ability to work autonomously to drive clarity in ambiguous situations

• Passion for leading, developing direct reports to build high performance team; providing feedback, guidance, consultation, and opportunities towards improving their professional skill set
• Exceptional communication skills and experience balancing diverse priorities in a fair and transparent manner.

  Ability to navigate difficult conversations, both on your team and with stakeholder teams
