Manager, Software Engineering – CI Platforms

This role is part of the Internal Platforms organization.

Your team is responsible for designing the next generation Continuous Integration(CI) platform at Indeed.You have proven experience/passion for developer tooling specifically in building cloud native CI infrastructure that can handle tens of thousands of builds and deployments everyday at Indeed.

You will be the technical leader in influencing the ever-growing Indeed engineering community to adopt the next generation CI platform. 

Responsibilities

• Experienced in leading a geographically distributed team of software engineers, hiring, performance management, and career coaching.

• Drive technical decisions, processes along with empowering engineers with autonomy and ownership.

• Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving, architecture and technical innovation, capable of “rolling-up sleeves and getting hands dirty”.

• Be actively involved in strategic direction and product decisions that impact the entire Indeed engineering community.

Who You Are

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in software engineering roles, building and maintaining large scale, distributed systems.

• 2+ years experience as an Engineering Manager (3+ direct reports) working on challenging software engineering problems

• 5+ years experience working with any developer tools like Jenkins, Gitlab CI, ArgoCD, AWS Code pipeline, Spinnaker and Nexus.

• 7+ years experience with at least one of the following languages: Java, C++, Python, C#, Ruby. 

• Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related computer technical field.

• Significant experience with managing large scale, geo-present and highly available production systems.

Nice to have

• Experience in building and managing Gitlab CI/Jenkins infrastructure in public cloud

• Hands on experience building in any cloud-based platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure

• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in a production environment

• Experience with developing Infrastructure as Code(IaC) using tools like Terraform.
