Within RMS Spectrum Convergence portfolio, the Terrestrial Layer System (TLS) program is seeking a motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join their high-performing software development team.
TLS is the Armys next generation, tactical vehicle based-system that delivers an integrated suite of signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and cyberspace operations to enable 21st Century Warfighting capabilities.
When fielded, it will provide the warfighter critical situational awareness of the enemy through detection, identification, location, exploitation, and disruption of enemy signals of interest.
A successful TLS engineer will embody all of the qualities of a software engineering leader in the organization by possessing both the technical and soft skills required to foster a collaborative, high performing environment.
TLS is deeply rooted in developing RF techniques that will leverage knowledge of RF Engineering, DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and SDR (Software Defined Radio).
Even though the effort is rooted in the development of RF, DSP, and SDR solutions, these products require sound, extensible, software at their foundations to ensure successful operation.
In addition to development of new solutions, candidates should possess the ability to integrate and expand on existing software products.
TLS Engineers will perform the critical role of integrating developed RF techniques into fully equipped Army Stryker vehicles that will test these capabilities in fielded operational scenarios.
A qualified TLS engineer should possess a broad engineering skillset with background in software development and the full software development lifecycle.
They will be implementing capabilities that provide diverse mission solutions across a wide array of domains including communications, telecom, electronic, sensor systems, and resiliency.
Software development may involve applications for digital modulation, pulse mode sensors, and wireless protocol physical layer processing (e.G., LTE, GSM, WiFi, etc.).
They should also have experience executing software development in an Agile development environment that spans multiple geographic locations.
The candidate should be comfortable presenting and demonstrating capabilities to both internal and external customers.
In addition, candidates should feel comfortable reaching beyond the immediate team to government and business partners in order to leverage shared products.
This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, but it is not required to start.Basic Qualifications: Knowledge of full software development lifecycle from concept through operations Comfortable with a variety of programming languages, including C, C++, and Python Digital Signal Processing or Digital Communications experience Experience with automated software testing, integration, and deployment Experience working in an Agile development environment which includes leveraging Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, team environment Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearanceDesired Skills: Software Defined Radio experience Experience integrating and testing 3rd party software solutions (GOTS/COTS/FOSS).
Strong analysis and mathematical skills Embedded Software Development CUDA Code Development Experience Containerized Application Deployment (Docker/Kubernetes) Experience designing and implementing solutions for high performance, real-time or near-real-time systems Experience working with RF Frameworks such as GNURadio, Salvage, RedHawk, X-Midas, etc.
