Senior Cybersecurity Software EngineerDescriptionLiberty Mutual’s Global Cybersecurity organization is actively searching for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join the IT Compliance & Controls Assurance team.
In this role, automation of control testing and self-servicing of artifacts to comply with laws and standards at the scale and speed necessary to protect Liberty Mutual data is the primary objective.
You will use your Python coding and Shell Scripting with Bash and PowerShell to design, document and develop software to execute these objectives.
You will also use you’re your communication skills to solve complex technical issues with sensitivity to diverse audiences.

This is not a passive career opportunity, but rather one that requires a passion for automation and changing the way we work to drive efficiencies, reduce manual processing, and enable teams to focus on business-driven work.About the Job:Be part of the team that implement self-service and automation mechanisms to increase the efficiency, objectivity, and effectiveness of cybersecurity analyst and our programs, while reducing our reliance and impact on other teams during our assessments.Be a leading member of an agile team focused on analysis, design, coding testing and implementation of highly complex automation solutions for IT, Financial and Security controls.Use advanced decision-making behaviors that require analytical, interpretative and creative thinking that may not conform to established patterns in order to solve security problems.The Ideal Candidate:Adept in new and emerging technologies, IT concepts, strategies and methodologies.Skilled with Python, Bash and PowerShell scripting languages.Advanced consultative skills, including the ability to understand and assist in applying customer requirements.Advanced communication and collaboration skills enabling the resource to effectively communicate with a diverse audience and across multiple technologies.A growth mindset and be open-minded and able to adapt to changing environmentsFamiliar with agile working environments to include both scrum and kanban.Knowledge of various environments (on-prem, ICCU, AWS, Azure, containers, etc.)Ability to analyze log and system data from IT systemsUnderstand Enterprise IT Operations, including: Networking, Active Directory, LDAP, Windows Server, and Cloud InfrastructuresExperience automating processes utilizing a scripting language such as Python, Go or Ruby.Develop new solutions for compliance programs, while also developing prototypes and proof-of-concepts aligned to business needs.Work with other stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions meet technical direction, requirements, performance, time-to-market and innovation goals.Monitor product life cycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and engineering decisions, undertaking re-development where required.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors or Master’s degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.Generally, 5+ years of professional experience.Industry cybersecurity and/or technology certifications are a plus.Experience using Python, and scripting languages for automation.We take care of our employees…We strongly believe that a great job should keep you happy both at work-and in life.
