Position:    Lead Java Developer (REMOTE) Permanent/Fulltime

Location:   Oldsmar, FL

Duration: Permanent Position

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Translate business requirements and use cases into functional applications
• Establish and enforce design and implementation standards
• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software
• Review, test, and verify code for adherence to quality and security standards
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Design and enforce the use of the automated unit and integration testing.
• Provide regular feedback to management on the status of development efforts.
• Lead project teams in producing new applications or features
• Work with the development team to define and implement architecture direction
• Evaluate and implement tools, libraries, or frameworks to assist in producing software.
• Assist in post-implementation, continuous improvement efforts.
• Stay abreast of effective tools, strategies, and processes.
• Mentor team members in design and coding techniques and practices
• Provide guidance, direction, and technical support to team members

Education and Experience (required):

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training
• 10 years of experience analyzing, designing, and implementing solutions using JEE (J2EE)
• 10 years of experience designing/writing systems with a relational database such as Oracle, Postgres DB, or SQL Server.
• Experience in creating GUI using such tools as React, Flux, JSP, HTML, Tag Libraries, JavaScript, or any other Java GUI framework
• Experience using revision control systems such as Git or Subversion.
• 10 years of experience writing automated unit tests using JUnit or similar.
• 10 years of experience in the design and development of complex Web Systems.
• Experience with secure software development
• Experience with conducting code reviews
• Experience with Web Services (SOAP and REST)
• Experience with high-availability online transaction processing
• Experience with defining and enforcing coding standards
