Job Summary ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: Data Architects apply documented architectural practices to define data and information resources.
They develop, influence, maintain, sustain, and govern standards-based models and methods in order to enable the creation, sharing, and use of data and products across the Agency and within the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) and Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence (ASG).
They prepare policies and procedures that facilitate the development and implementation of shared solutions.
They also represent the Agency’s interest in national and international forums.
Data Architects define performance and evaluation criteria that assess standards compliance and collaborate with mission partners to create and establish implementation practices which achieve interoperability goals.
Additional Job Information ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Leads design, implementation and management of Agency-wide Data Abstraction layer of the Enterprise Architecture.
Designs and implements effective database solution to ingest, curate, store and retrieve agency/IC data.
Performs structural data tests in alignment with user and application usage patterns.
Standardizes data architecture and data management practices; manages operational data standards.
Implements database controls in alignment with internal and external regulations.
Investigates and implements new and improved data standards, including the conversion of legacy data standards.
Actively manages and operates NGA and IC-wide master data management operations.
Creates and maintains an active data dashboard on behalf of the CDO.
This position may be eligible for an INCENTIVE: The selected candidates may be offered an incentive as part of the offer of employment, based on budget availability.
To receive the incentive, the selected candidate must sign a service agreement depending on the approved amount or duration of the incentive.
If the employee leaves before the end of the service agreement, the employee may be required to repay a pro rata share amount of the incentive to the government.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Information Science, Mathematics, Physics, Technology Management, Geodetic Science, Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.

Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in drafting standards, assessing processes and procedures against criterion, preparing technical documentation, coordinating technical issues with stakeholders, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.
As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience.
Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years.

Highly Desired Qualifications QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: Experience with Data Architecture and Data Engineering.
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or similar field.
Knowledge of GEOINT Data and Products.
Experience with Spatial Data and Spatial Analysis.
Experience with Data Ontologies, MPP database technologies.
Exposure to Geomatics and Cartography.
Additional Job Requirements You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information.
All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility.
Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.
Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility.
Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.
