DEKA Research and Development, housed in Manchester, NH, is looking for a dynamic, results driven and inventive individual to join our Regenerative Medicine Team as a systems engineer.
Individuals selected for this role would serve as technical guides and leaders in the development of equipment and tools for automating the production of human tissues and organs.

How you will make an impact:
Work with a small, fast-paced group
Translate explicit and implicit stakeholder needs into actionable design decisions
Define critical system features and subsystems interfaces in sophisticated software, electrical, mechanical, and biological systems
Conduct research and engineering testing to guide product development and system integration
Lead risk management activities including: hazards identification, failure modes and effects analysis, risk analysis, root cause analysis, and risk benefits assessments
Assist in the identification and evaluation of hazard mitigations
Troubleshoot failures, analyze data, lead system design review meetings, and provide feedback to development team
Participate in brainstorming sessions on automation concepts, contributing interdisciplinary solutions to complex problems
Help to ensure an overall level of product quality in line with DEKA and regulatory standards
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
MS/BS in Biomedical Engineering
Passion for biomedical technologies and problem solving using first principles thinking
Experience defining critical system features and subsystems interfaces in sophisticated software, electrical, mechanical, and biological systems
Eagerness to explore new areas of expertise and continually improve existing skills
Ability to function as an individual contributor with minimal direction
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detailed oriented
Cell culture lab experience and knowledge of common tissue engineering strategies
Knowledge of regulatory and product development processes a plus
Candidates should be prepared to give examples of hands-on projects and accomplishments including group projects demonstrating leadership and/or collaboration, and situations of self-initiated learning and progression (both academic and non-academic)
