What to expect in this position:

We are looking for a full-time Junior Data Scientist to join our Data Science Division in Washington, DC.

Working independently and within a team, you will be involved in all phases of ETL and machine learning pipelines comprising a variety of programming languages, databases, and tools.

You will be responsible for creating ETL pipelines, cleansing and standardizing data, as well as developing AI/ML models that will assist with data correlation and automated decision making for electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) situational awareness and battle management.

You will have the opportunity to strengthen your skill set while learning new technologies utilized across the Expression Networks breadth and depth of projects.

Expression Networks HQ is conveniently located northeast of Union Station.

We are a 5-minute walk from the Gallaudet
– Noma DC Metro station.

The U-line building has a parking garage attached to the building.

• Hybrid remote capability
• Ability to travel to Annapolis, MD

Security Clearance:

• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance or Higher, in order to obtain this clearance the following is required:
  • US Citizenship, can’t be Dual Citizenship
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • No Felonies (depending on the misdemeanor(s) may still be eligible)

Minimum Experience:

• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Data Science/Computer Engineering or relevant discipline
• 1+ years’ experience creating AI/ML models and pipelines in execution of development task
• 1+ years’ experience using Python language and libraries for data science
• 1+ years’ experience creating ETL processes and working with a variety of databases
• Knowledge of advanced statistical concepts and methods

Preferred Experience:

• Experience using Tensorflow, Caffe2, PyTorch, Keras, and PySpark
• Experience using ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Postgres, Neo4j, and Pentaho Data Integration
• Experience using one or more SQL-on-Hadoop technology (Hive, Impala, Spark SQL, Presto, etc.)
• Experience in short release cycles and the full software lifecycle
• Experience with Agile development methodology (e.g., Scrum)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
