CEIs client in Sunnyvale is looking for a Jr.
DevOps Engineer to add to a large-scale, fast, and agile team comprised of a network operations team, a systems operations team, and a DevOps team.
This group is responsible for providing the network, infrastructure, and operational layers for engineering from development to release.
This is a 6-Month Contract with a potential for extension or conversion to a perm position and has a starting pay of 40.00 HR Benefits from day 1 (medical, dental, vision, and 401k).
What are some interesting problems yoursquoll be working on?
You will be working with various engineering teams solving DevOps problems at scale.
For example, after training you will be able to completely automate deployments of entire environments for a given project or across multiple projects within AWS or OpenStack while leveraging off the shelf technologies.
You will help bridge the gap between engineering and operations.
Develop scripts and utilities leveraging various APIs to automate various tasks from data collection to instance and application delivery management.
Query and quantify reported issues through the use of data stores from Splunk to ElasticSearch.
Generate alert workflows by identifying and implementing monitoring metrics to improve reliability, visibility, and response.
Constantly evaluate systems integration support through the stack and provide guidance to QA.
Skills Requirements Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, a related technical degree or 1-3 years of professional experience Experience with or an understanding of UNIXLinux-based operating systems (Red Hat LinuxCentOSgeneral UNIX) Configuration management skills (Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet, Salt, Chef, etc) Understanding or experience with components of AWS such as EC2, Beanstalk, ELB, Route53, S3, Cloudfront, SNS, SWF, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, ElasticCache, IAM, CloudFormation.
Scripting or Automation skills using bash, python, perl, ruby, or the proven ability to automate common administration tasks Experience working with buildsreleases is preferred Experience working with load balancing technologies and web server farms is preferred
