GEICO is seeking a highly motivated JavaScript Web Analytics Engineer who can work independently on a specialized team supporting website analytics.
You can be part of the Digital Analytics team, which is critical to the success of GEICO’s internet Marketing and digital (customer-facing) applications.
Primary responsibilities include strategic planning and execution of analytics tagging implementations, testing and data quality management.
The selected candidate will work with Adobe and Google tag manager software to collect data about how our customers come to GEICO.com and interact with our applications on the web.
We use Adobe and Google tag managers to populate data for customer experience analysis by Marketing, the Metrics teams and other internal GEICO departments.
This data analysis helps GEICO better understand fundamental information on how many customers came to GEICO.com and how many completed each step in the application flow, among many other insights.
The Digital Analytics team also helps with software that is used to determine the results of A/B testing by the digital applications.
Finally, the analytics data is loaded into the EDP platform to be combined with other GEICO data for additional reporting insights.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Strong Experience in analytics solution design, configuration, and technical implementation of custom tracking solutions
Hands-on Experience with JavaScript and regular expressions for creating tags within a tag management platform
Understanding of mobile development technologies (iOS and Android) and analytics SDKs
Understanding of how digital application code populates tag data.
Experience with tag management systems (TMS) like GTM/Launch and how tag managers collect the tagged data and store it for analysis.
Strong critical thinking, decision making, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Quantitative mindset, with a desire to work in a data-intensive environment
Ability to support multiple stakeholders/projects simultaneously and work in a very fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences is desired
Ability to partner with a broad range of internal customers to understand their analytics needs
Ability to define detailed analytics requirements and test strategies
Familiarity with creation of data layer specifications and TMS rules for best practice implementation of site and media analytics tracking while reducing page complexity and improving performance
Experience with SQL queries using Big query or DB Visualizer and/or similar tools to access data in EDP (Enterprise Data Platform)
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS DESIRED:
Knowledge of Insurance Industry’s applications knowledge, especially for the Sales, Mobile and Service apps.
Familiarity with the Adobe Analytics tool suite like Test & Target.
Familiarity with an Agile development environment
Familiarity for the application front-development disciplines
Familiarity with implementation of automated testing and optimization tools with integration across multiple internal applications and data integration to ensure complete testing, targeting and tagging strategies
