JOB DESCRIPTION The IT Security Engineerrsquos mission is to design IT infrastructure solutions that enable efficient delivery of new and existing Security Services to the enterprise.
This includes thorough understanding of technical platforms delivering Security services, ability to perform required integrations, understanding of design impacts on Operations teams, and close partnership with Architecture and project delivery areas.
This is a senior technical role, requiring a solid understanding and experience implementing a variety of network security, identity, cyber security, privileged access, and related technologies, using solid design principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES IT Security Operations (90) Designs IT Security infrastructure solutions that align with Customer, Ops and Engineering, Architecture, and CISO policies, standards, requirements, and goals.
Serves as technical lead resource and subject matter expert (SME) across all Security platforms for operational, enhancement, and related activities.
Interfaces with IT mission partners, including Networking, Architecture, and Project Delivery, to deliver business value Establishes and maintains good working relationships with all team members, partners, and customers.
Advocates for newenhanced Security services on behalf of customers Contributes requirements to technology selection process Serves as technical resource on various initiatives Support Security Delivery personnel, in the testing and deployment phases of all security solutions initiatives, to ensure smooth operational knowledge development and transition.
Partners with Security Delivery to ensure all new Security technology deployments include appropriate support documentation and that Security Operations team members are fully trained to take responsibility for monitoring, ongoing support, routine engineering, and operation of the new security technology.
Supports Security Delivery in the testing and deployment phases of IT projects that require delivery of non-routine security solutions to ensure smooth operational knowledge development and transition.
Leadership (10) Mentor Security personnel, to help develop others and to highlight any coverage or skills gaps.
Lead cross-functional troubleshooting of complex issues, as required QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Prior Experience Eight (8) years or more relevant IT infrastructure experience Technical background within Networking, Information Security, andor security-related infrastructure, with strong network and integration background Technical and Professional Skills Associate is expected to operate at the expert level across the following areas of technical knowledge and skill Experience with network security platforms (eg.
Firewalls, proxies, wireless security, etc.) and appropriate use in infrastructure design Experience with additional security platforms, including Identity and Access Management, CertificatesPKI, Data Encryption, Wireless Security, Privileged Access Management, Active Directory Security, Web Application Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Load Balancers, Authentication and Authorization Services, andor related.
Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems Experience with system integration tools and techniques Experience with Visio andor other diagramming tools Must be self-motivated, proactive, creative, and efficient in identifying issues, understanding, and proposing solutions Builds and maintains good working relationships Excellent written, oral, instructional, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to efficiently operate computers, tablets, and mobile devices Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) Broad experienceunderstanding of IT operations and service delivery model Applies in-depth advanced knowledge (principles, theories, and concepts) and skills of a specificspecialized technical area within the context of a similar industry or type of organization Certifications not required, but CCNA, SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner), Security, and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) desirable Improves andor adapts work methods based on past firsthand experiences, without the benefit of defined procedures, and identifies solutions to problems through interpretive skills and analyses Working understanding of the SDLC process and the QA lifecycle and methodology TECHEAD’s mission is to make our on-site associates successful by placing them in the right environment so they can grow and prosper.
