In the Resume Search team, our focus in on employers and our goal is to help people get jobs by make recruiting easy and frictionless.
We provide a suite of world-class recruiting tools on a highly distributed platform that scales to the needs of the 3+ million companies that use Indeed to hire.
Our tools include a search system for finding the most relevant resumes fast and contact management for engaging candidates.
Your job.As a staff software development engineer (SWE3), you will design new software systems and enhancements to existing systems to support substantial new software features and products.
Work with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, Test & Software Engineers and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and to decompose large requests into smaller ones that can be executed sequentially or in parallel.
Provide sound technical guidance, ensure product quality, and help set the technical direction for the team.
Research, experiment, and develop new innovations as well as product and platform improvements that improve employer experiences which helps people find jobs.
Contribute to the product roadmap, technology, and vision while creating a culture of quality and operational excellence on the team.
Demonstrate strong technical leadership and leverage your years of hands-on technical engineering experience to hold the organization to a high standard of technical excellence.
Share the expertise on products and technologies by mentoring other engineers and by providing insightful feedback in code reviews for changes made by other engineers.
Investigate and resolve difficult problems and fix complex bugs; accept escalations of complex issues.
Assist other engineers in designing solutions, prioritizing work items, estimating urgency and business impact, and balancing short-term and long-term results.This opportunity is for a senior staff engineer working primarily on backend systems for the core search team in the Resume product group.
This team is responsible for the backend systems (e.G., Search Engine, Query Evaluation, Indexing, etc.) as well as the Web UIs used by Employers & Recruiters to find and contact the candidates they want to hire (a.K.A.
“Search Team”).
The Search Team owns the core technologies that drive the growth of the whole product group and business.
This team needs an experienced staff engineer with established experience in search technologies to lead the next phase of growth.

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
