They are at an exciting point in their growth as they are looking to scale up their data science team. This position reports directly into the C-suite having a high-level of visibility and calls for an experienced candidate with a strong background in causal inference, data science and machine learning.THE ROLEAs the Director of Data Science, you will be required to:Lead efforts in applying advanced statistical methodologies to analyze various datasets, building new products and evolving existing models with medical claims dataStrategize on the scope of the causal inference team and be responsible for team growthOwn new projects answering challenging medical questions and developing predictive modelsProvide deep technical knowledge within causal inference and data scienceWrite code for proof-of-concept and production-grade projects and communicate with the entire technical team to impact algorithm productionPartner with the leadership team on team and company focusesYOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEThe successful Director of Data Science will likely have the following skills and experience:MS or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics or Healthcare Economics with a focus on causal inferenceHistory of developing applications with statistical and machine learning approachesProven experience developing and leading data science teams in commercial settingsExperience utilizing a variety of healthcare and medical data: EMR, EHR, insurance claims, etc.Programming experience in Python or RPrevious experience in healthcare, pharma or medical setting preferredKnowledge of Big Data packages a plus, Hadoop, Spark, Hive or othersProven communicator with technical team, clients and senior stakeholdersHistory of research and publication contributionComfortable working in a dynamic environmentTHE BENEFITSA competitive base salary of $190,000 $210,000 + equityHOW TO APPLYPlease register your interest by sending your résumé to Tim Jonas via the Apply link on this page.KEYWORDSCausal Inference | Machine Learning | Statistics | Medical | Healthcare | Data Science | Startup | Big Data | Technology
