Safety uses the latest technologies such as image processing and speech recognition to detect safety concerns and prevent health and life threatening behaviors. Trust detects fraudulent and abusive customer behaviors and transactions to prevent monetary losses. Identity makes sure customers are authenticated and their accounts are protected during the whole life cycle at Grab. In other words, the success, safety and satisfaction of Grab’s millions of everyday users depend on the work we do every single day. It’s very high impact and high reward!Our engineering systems are highly scalable, with peak traffic of tens of thousands of transactions per second, and multi-TB data processed daily. All our critical systems achieve more than 99.99% availability. We use Golang and Python for backend development, and React as our web development framework. We use Flink, Redis, Kafka, DynamoDB, Scylladb etc for big data technologies. We also use image processing, speech processing, deep learning, and other types of ML technologies.Senior Engineer Responsibilities:Collect business and technical requirements to own and build world class solutions in Trust, Safety & Identity spaceDesign, develop, and test new features and servicesMetrics, alerts, dashboards and operation excellence in running high scale and critical systemsParticipate in code reviewsMentor and collaborate with others in this team and partner teamsThe Must Haves:Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related areas3+ years of industry software engineering experienceSolid knowledge of data structure and algorithms1+ years of distributed systems development experienceSolid verbal and written communication skillsAbility and willingness to drive commitments and projects through to completionStrong inclination toward collaboration and partnershipThe Nice-to-Haves:Master degree in CS or related areasExperience with safety system development, fraud detection, or identityExperience with big data technologies and machine learningDesign experience of large scale distributed systemCulture:The Grab Principles capture the 4 underlying qualities expected of every Grabber.
