Google Cloud Migration Specialist, Professional Services

Minimum qualifications:* 12 years of experience in the technology industry.* 5 years of experience in migrating workloads from on-premise or another public cloud to a public cloud platform (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure etc.).* Experience in a customer-facing role representing customers and driving discussions with executives regarding trade-offs, practices, project management, and risk mitigation.Preferred qualifications:* Bachelor’s degree in Information Science/Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.* Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect.* Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA, etc.).* Experience implementing, designing, and building with cloud services.* Experience in the design, deployment, and operations in one or more areas of specializations (e.g., infrastructure, application, database migration, etc.).* Understanding of container management/scheduling tools (e.g., Kubernetes), infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, etc.), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, etc.).About the jobIn this role, you will be at the forefront of making our customers’ future a reality by leading them through their migration journey to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will collaborate with Google’s delivery partners, customers, and business units directly on prioritized migration engagements and ensure customer objectives are met. You will develop a clear migration plan and journey during customer engagements.Your will work on migration risk assessments, determine the workload roadmap to GCP, and provide guidance on developing the business case for the customer. You will drive assessments and help to accelerate the customer’s transformation to Google Cloud.This team collaborates across the GCP organization, and works with product/service teams, partners, and customers to ensure the right transformation solutions are delivered to market with feature innovation based upon customer needs.Google Cloud provides organizations with leading infrastructure, platform capabilities and industry solutions. Customers in more than 150 countries turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to solve their most critical business problems.Additional Information(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.* Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.Responsibilities* Represent Google Cloud well within the customer’s environment and partner ecosystem, drive migration planning, and design discussions with technical/business stakeholders.* Educate customers on the value proposition of Google Cloud, Google Cloud services, and explain Google Cloud migration frameworks.* Establish Google Cloud migration plans that will contribute to securing customer’s commitment to the data center transformation and manage the strategy for migration implementation.* Manage the current state assessments of the organization, technology capabilities, and technology environment including sizing, application dependencies, security requirements, and first mover workloads.* Guide future state optimization recommendations, cost over time, and return on investment (ROI) timeline.
