And our work depends on a Geospatial Systems Engineer ll/Integrator joining our team to support our intelligence customer activities in Northern, VA.In this role, a typical day will include:The Geospatial Systems Engineer shall perform detailed design and implementation of proprietary and open source geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) frameworks, machine learning (ML) pipelines, and Deep Learning environments. The candidate will support architecture design. The successful candidate will be directly involved in the design and implementation of complex and strategic deployments of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) platforms used with GeoAI practices. The candidate will be responsible for working with a highly functional engineering and architectural team developing and deploying custom solutions to the client’s requirements in GeoAI and Deep Learning. Other responsibilities will include working with the team to define task breakdowns and effort estimates as well as preparing design and test documents.This position is combination of systems engineering, integration duties, and database management:Systems Engineer III:+ Creates and analyzes highly complex software engineering architectures and designs+ Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software systems, including, but not limited to application software, utility software, development software, and diagnostic software. Participates in the development of test strategies, devices, and systemsIntegration and Database Administration:+ Integrates and tests programs or databases (ArcGIS Server Enterprise (SQL Server, PostgreSQL – PostGIS – GeoServer and associated plugins), corrects errors and makes necessary modifications; instantiates databases, assigns roles, modifies existing databases and database management systems or directs programmers and analysts to make changes; plans, coordinates and implements security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure; works as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determines project scope and limitations; writes and codes logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or directs others in coding descriptions; trains users and answers questions; specifies users and user access levels for each segment of database.+ Reviews, Assesses, and Develops approaches to machine learning frameworks from training data acquisition and storage to model management, inferencing, and benchmarking of image annotation+ Approves, schedules, plans, and supervises the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems+ Reviews project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project+ Develops standards and guidelines for use and acquisition of software and protects vulnerable informationRequired Skills:+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences or other business related field AND 5 – 10 years of technical experience+ Thoroughly understands software engineering and programming for large computer and minicomputer and microprocessor systems supporting broad base of applications and High Performance Computing (HPC) environments+ Background in requirements analysis, design, and coding methodologies (Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, XML) ; documentation standards; configuration management; DoD software policies; and DoD test and evaluation requirements; real-time operating systems, distributed systems, modeling and simulation; data base design and management, and resource utilization assessment+ Typically works in highly complex areas where ingenuity and creativity are required to provide solutions to major design problems+ Have the technical background and skills to perform in all phases of software design, development, documentation, and implementation+ Ability to design and develop advanced networking techniques+ Experience with Atlassian Suite (DevOps)+ Experience with database troubleshooting, connections, and remote accesses+ Must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearanceCOVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: To protect the health and safety of its employees and to comply with customer requirements, GDIT may require employees in certain positions to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
