Embedded Software Engineer

A NauWork autonomous robotics systems client is looking for a talented Computer Embedded Engineer to join its software team.

The role involves the development of software for on-board video processing systems that perform real-time video processing in autonomous vehicles
– UAVs, drones, robots.

Role Scope
Develop C/C++ video processing algorithm software on the latest Linux multi-core processors;
Work on embedded video processors for airborne security and surveillance products;
Directly support customers and customer-defined development projects;
Collaborate with diverse teams of experienced software developers to achieve project development objectives;
Work with business development, management, and the software team to define development specifications and plans;
Rapidly develop new skills to support development work.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience;
2-8 years C/C++ software development;
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Beneficial Experience (not required)
Software unit testing and use of version control
– SVN, GIT
Embedded Linux software development in C/C++ and Python, and Bash scripting
Software optimization experience for DSP applications and/or CPU (ARM) or GPU processors
Working knowledge of digital video/audio streaming/recording standards (e.g.

H.264)
Worked with or implemented embedded hardware drivers
Working experience with command-and-control protocols over serial communication interfaces or Ethernet.
