DevOps Engineer

REMOTE

Salary: $75K to 100K

Hours: M-F, basic 8-5 however we offer flexible scheduling

Role Summary:

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help build and manage our platform.

You will be responsible for service delivery, reliability, scalability, monitoring, and helping define all of this as infrastructure-as-code.

Job Responsibilities:
Design infrastructure and automation to support our distributed infrastructure across production and pre-production environments.

Create tools to empower developers to manage production infrastructure.

Manage CI/CD pipelines and constantly improve their reliability and speed.

Predict, plan, and implement the infrastructure needs of a mission-critical SaaS platform.

Collaborate with our engineering team to detect and resolve infrastructure problems.

Work collaboratively Developers to setup & configure the necessary cloud services in support of new feature development, seeing them through from conception to delivery.

Update job knowledge by studying state-of-art tools, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks.

Help define, document, evolve, and evangelize high engineering standards and best practices across multiple areas.

On call outside of regular business hours may be required.

Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or related) or equivalent professional experience.

3+ years of experience in DevOps / System Engineer in a professional setting.

Strong experience working with infrastructure-as-code frameworks and automation tooling (Ansible and Jenkins preferred, but others acceptable).

Experience working within AWS and with its managed products (EC2, S3, Route53, SES, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.) Understanding of system administration in Linux environments.

Skills in Linux with Bash, Python, or equivalent scripting language.

Familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana for monitoring, ELK stack and Nagios for logging and alerting.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy working across an organization from Development and QA through Operations.

Security centric in all approaches to design in infra as code.

Ability to quickly learn complex systems and environments, from the network through the application.

Ability to self-manage and work independently.

Strong written and oral communication skills.
