Responsibilities In support of our DHS customer,Perspecta is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualifiedindividuals for future opportunities in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.The role would entail providing senior level consultation and technical subject matter expertise to the Science and Technology (ST) Directorate within DHS. The principal function of DHS’ ST Directorate is to support Research and Development (RD), and Test and Evaluation (TE) services to expand the understanding of current and new solutions. This function manages a complex and broad portfolio of scientific investments focused on the investigation, experimentation and evaluation of emerging science and technology in response to DHS Component needs. Responsibilities The senior scientist will be part of an RD team investigating, analyzing, testing and developing complex AIML solutions supporting the requirements of DHS and its component Agencies. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable working across RD and operational lab environments, with multidisciplinary teams in a mixed-contractor environment and direct government customer interfacing. Provide consultative services and research to develop innovative, complex, leading-edge scientific and technology solutions, applying machine learning approaches across multiple domain areas including national security, multimedia (voice, text, imagery, and video) and life sciences Lead project teams through the software development life cycle Drive technologies, research and prototypes based upon customer requirements Support execution of machine learning projects by collecting data, performing model training, evaluating performance and analyzing results Develop algorithms and conduct analysis using state-of-the-art machine learningartificial intelligence tools across different domains Performs data and problem analysis using creative problem solving and design thinking Collaborate across diverse technology, scientific, shared service, and customer organizations to engage clients to enable development of solutions which meet their mission requirements Authors andor consults on technical documents and presentations Qualifications Requires 10-12 years with BSBA or 8-10 years with MSMA or 5-7 years with Ph.D. Degree must be in Science (physics, robotics, computer, artificial intelligence), Mathematics or Electrical Engineering Demonstrated use of statistics, machine and deep learning concepts, approaches and key algorithms minimum 5-8 years specific experience in a government Agency Experience in developing, testing, debugging and deploying complex algorithms in a variety of environments Strong critical thinking and leadership skills Proficient in technical writing and strong communication skills, especially in communicating scientific concepts to non-scientific people Ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests ship required Active SECRET clearance preferred, however ability to obtain and maintain SECRET is required Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS ST EOD is required Active DHS EOD for HQs or any DHS component, desirable Preferred additional qualifications Masters or Phd level education highly desired 5+ years of experimental work in computer science engineering or a scientific field Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of machine learning applications and methods to include deep learning, model development, workflow automation, and training data Experience with AIML tools and Deep Learning Frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Caffe, etc) Statistics and Visualization experience with Matlab, pandas, plotly, Apache Singa etc..
