In this position, the data engineer develops and implements solutions integrating applications across the enterprise or its units/departments.
They are also responsible for developing business to business integrations in order to allow us to efficiently trade electronic documents with our external trading partners.
Data engineers also develop extract-transform-load (ETL) programs to populate databases and data warehouses.
Additionally, data engineers evaluate existing components or systems to determine integration requirements and to ensure final solutions meet organizational needs.
Job tasks include, but are not limited to, the following: Translates business systems designs into appropriate technical solutions.
Assesses feasibility for requested systems changes and enhancements and provides estimates of the effort required to make such changes and enhancements.
Develops and maintains technical systems documentation, including but not limited to: entity-relationship diagrams, build diagrams, flow charts, data flow diagrams, system narratives, design specifications, and test cases Implements physical database structures of ERDs to build datamarts, data warehouses, and other databases.
Focuses on building SQL Server Integration Services, Logic Apps, and data service scripts to interface various platforms, applications, and external trading partners.
Assist in transforming our integration platform to more quickly deliver application, data, and B2B integrations.
Provides monitoring and problem support for systems in assigned area Qualifications; Associate’s Degree, Trade or Technical School: College Degree Major Desired
– Computer and Information Technology, Computer Science with a plan of study in Software Development, or Systems Integration At least 3 years of practical work experience Knowledge of computer programming, specifically Microsoft .Net Knowledge of relational databases and data exchange formats such as JSON, XML, CSV, and EDI Knowledge of building and consuming web-based APIs Be familiar with version control, change control, and DevOps practices Prior experience with SQL Server Integration Services.
Informatica, Logic Apps, or other integration tools a plus Must have excellent attendance, strong communication skills, and have the ability to find solutions independently Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Must have excellent organizational skills Must be capable of learning new technical skills quickly Job Requirements: Associate’s Degree, Trade or Technical School: College Degree Major Desired
