Data Base Developer

Community Health Center

This is a Contract position in Maquoketa, IA posted September 12, 2021.

Title Database and Reporting Developer Description The Database and Reporting Developer’s role is to fulfill the data needs of the Weitzman Institute, a national research, education, and policy institute embedded within Community Health Center, Inc., and dedicated to primary care transformation, with a particular focus on the underserved.

This individual will use proven knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL, SSRS, SharePoint and specialized reporting tools such as Tableau to develop specifications and meet requirements.

A clear understanding of data warehouses and healthcare data is expected.

The developer is expected to use established BI Team standards.

The position reports to the Director of Business Intelligence.

Responsibilities In conjunction with IT Management, data owners and business units, develop models, procedures, and protocols for reporting in concert with company goals.

Proactively develops expertise in assigned clinical subject areas.

Meet with decision makers, systems owners, business analysts and end users to define reporting requirements and goals.

Work with application development staff to coordinate the creation and management of reporting structures and data.

Extract and transform data from the data warehouse and electronic health record.

Prepare and deliver reports in SharePoint, SSRS, Tableau and other reporting & BI systems across the organization.

Liaise with various business groups in the organization to facilitate implementation of improved processes.

Coordinate post-implementation support, including end-user reviews, for modified and new data content, scorecards, KPIs, dashboards, and reports.

Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information management systems or a related field (or equivalent work experience) and 1-3 years related work experience.

Knowledge & Experience Proven experience with report writing and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, and data modeling (e.g., ML, NLP).

Proven experience with Visual Studio, BIDS, reporting tools, and other applications, including SSRS.

Considerable exposure to the operation and analysis of Microsoft SQL Server relational database software and standards, data warehouses, as well as data retrieval methodologies.

Experience with Healthcare Data preferred.

Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, pivot tables, and graphs.

Experience with the clinical research continuum preferred: e.g., preliminary data analyses for grant writing; participating in grant-funded data and safety monitoring boards; working with statisticians and scientists on grant-funded research.
