CMM Programmer

This is a Contract position in North Haven, CT posted December 8, 2021.
DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Quality Supervisor/Quality Engineer, create CMM programs using Open-DMIS software & SolidWorks models, utilize the latest software capabilities and best practices, and provide programming support for process development on new product introduction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Expertise and in-depth knowledge of CMM programming using Open-DMIS software & SolidWorks models. Understanding of part drawings, GD&T, product inspection related procedures for Inspection, documentation, and software control.
- Provide innovative CMM programs from SOLIDWORKS CAD models using OPEN-DMIS to implement best practices that maximize the use of CMMs in a production environment. Provide hands-on OPEN-DMIS CMM program development support.
- Utilize the latest software capabilities and best practices. Provide programming support for process development on new product introduction. Support cost reduction through improved part processing time using efficient CMM methods and innovative mistake proofing techniques.
- Provide tooling recommendations to optimize programs and CMM capabilities. Provide troubleshooting expertise to maximize the utilization of CMMs in production environments. Support continuous improvement of documented best practices and standard work for CMM programming and operation.
- Correlate inspection programs, and solve complex correlation issues. Standardize and document robust, accurate, and efficient part set-up methods. Train Operators in the use of set-up methods and program operation and interpretation. Compliance with manufacturing software control procedure.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36.00 – $50.00 per hour
