General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer with strong IT and security experience who preferably holds active DOD Secret clearance.

Site location: 100% Remote.

The position will support a US Air Force program that is playing a major role in strengthening and modernizing America’s Strategic Deterrent Force.

GDIT will develop and deliver a digital engineering design solution, which enables and integrates the programs complete set of data, tools, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) activities, and makes them available to internal and appropriate external engineering and programmatic stakeholders throughout the programs life-cycle.

This effort will culminate in an abstracted, highly transportable environment delivered to the Government, to be instantiated virtually on the Governments network infrastructure, and updated during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of weapon system development.

For this effort, GDIT will use cloud-based concepts including IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service); PaaS (Platform as a Service); and SaaS (Software as a service) and containerization concepts including Terraform and Docker to build-out the DEE.

Together, the application of these concepts will result in a Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC).

Cloud Systems Engineers will assist in the development, implementation, and tuning of management and monitoring tools needed to ensure the DEE is operating within optimal performance parameters.

Experience and Education:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

8 years experience

Experience designing and defining system architecture for new or existing computer systems

IAT Level II Certification

Familiarity with DoD RMF Processes, DoDI 8510.01/NIST SP 800-53

Ability to perform under pressure and handle change easily while meeting deadlines.

Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in writing form

Work independently and in a team environment, to give and receive direction.

Required Skills:

Experience designing and defining cloud system architecture for new or existing computer systems

Experience building/managing servers in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment

Experience with cloud/server/network/storage implementation and support

Experience with VMware implementation and support

Experience maintaining up-to-date documentation, and prepares documentation for infrastructure changes

Desired Skills:

Experience working in Agile teams

Active DOD Secret Clearance

Certification with Linux technologies

Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering

Security Clearance:
Ability to secure and maintain a SECRET security clearance
