JOB PURPOSE Sana Biotechnology is a company focused on creating and delivering engineered cells as medicines.
We are currently looking for a Cloud Systems Administrator to fill a technical and senior administration role that will be responsible for determining current and future cloud utilization, operations and execution.
This role will oversee the design and implementation as well as maintenance and support of our cloud environments (primarily AWS) that support the enterprise infrastructure of the company.
This includes overseeing Sana’s network, compute, and storage environments within our cloud environment.
The role includes providing world class IT Infrastructure to maximize our cloud utilization, laboratories, and R&D technical team’s capabilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the state of all components in Amazon cloud infrastructure Manage overall site availability, performance Manage monitoring environments determining alert strategies and tuning Deploying and managing scalable systems with high availability on AWS Maintain and create cloud instances, storage, and other cloud services Monitor and troubleshoot site performance issues Monitor for server and software vulnerabilities and manage upgrade and patching efforts Develop and manage configuration scripts for Amazon hosted infrastructure Maintain cloud-based servers patching vulnerabilities, backup/restoration operations, provision new servers, configure firewalls, configure monitoring systems.
Respond to alarms and outages on an as-needed basis AWS infrastructure platform expert (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3) Experience deploying AWS Workspaces Deploy infrastructure in AWS using Terraform AWS management experience (CloudWatch, CloudTrail) Automate processes using tools like Ansible and Terraform Deploy applications in AWS workspaces using CI/CD and automation QUAILFICATIONS Basic Qualifications Senior AWS Ecosystem Administrator with 8-10 years of experience supporting enterprise computing platforms and systems Strong systems administrator experience with maintenance of AWS environments Experience with traditional VM, EC2, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), or serverless based architectures Basic PowerShell scripting & optimization of cloud-based architectures Experience in managing data storage (S3 and FSX) in the AWS platform Experience with design, planning, implementation and maintenance of virtual environments, SANs, Firewalls, and Switches Sound experience in installations, upgrades, configuration, and administration of server OS such as Windows, Linux, and related components Experience with AWS management, governance, security, and serverless services Install, configure, administer, and optimize systems software packages such as application servers, middleware, web servers, and enterprise storage solutions & storage management software packages Experience with LogicMonitor monitoring platform is desirable Experience with account and user identity (IAM) administration in AWS Develop, test, and implement business continuity strategies and procedures as well as recommend and implement security structures necessary to protect the company 5 years of AWS experience with EC2, S3, EFS, FSx, IAM, MFA, security groups, VPC pairing Proficiency with automation scripting tools like Terraform, Ansible, Python and bash Linux Sysadmin experience preferred Experience with Active Directory and LDAP Experience with PowerShell Proficiency with code versioning and tools like Git Certified AWS SysOps Administrator is preferred Life Sciences experience highly desirable Working safely in person on a predictable and regular in-person basis is an essential job function for this position and the Company requires that all individuals working in-person, subject to certain exceptions, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
