Sr. Linux Server Administrator Position Description: * Provide System Administration support to NSWC Crane, IN. Support includes but not limited to Windows, Linux, Virtualization, and Networking support for the on premise data center as well as the public cloud assets
Position Responsibilities: * Schedule and perform the installation of hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Adhering to NREN defined Change Control process
* Manage computer/user accounts, privileges and system access
* Monitoring, reporting, configuration and change control of IA security controls with regards to all NREN systems and applications. Including, but not limited to, DAR, STIG, IAVM, RMF, and other related compliance guidelines
* Manage system resources in the monitoring of performance, capacity, availability, serviceability and recoverability
* Maintain updated software list for all systems (servers and workstations) including installed software, firmware version, OS version, UEFI/BIOS version, and system roles and features (Windows)
* Ensure system availability, functionality, integrity and efficiency, and maintain system configuration and documentation
* Ensure system applications, services, configurations, and infrastructure conform to all applicable NREN SLAs, MOA/MOUs, and Design Documents. Create and submit reports showing SLA compliance
* Manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements
* Install software applications that provide or enhance the security of individual platforms, systems and/or networks
Position Requirements: * Three (3+) years of full-time professional experience working with the configuration, deployment, and operation and maintenance of Linux server operating systems
* At least two (2+) years specific experience in managing Red Hat Linux and Ubuntu
* At least one (1+) year of professional experience in Linux administration in Cloud environments
* Experience performing Cyber Security procedures on Linux systems to include integration, auditing, and monitoring of security controls ensuring DoD and Navy cyber security compliance.
* Experience troubleshooting Linux Systems
* Must be a US Citizen
* Must possess active DoD Secret Clearance
Education and Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical discipline required
* Must be IAT Level II or IAT Level III compliant (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
* May require a Linux, Windows, Networking, and/or Cloud certification such as Cloud+ or AWS certification
* Must hold Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) Baseline Qualifications for CSWF Specialty Area and Proficiency Level
* Must satisfy eCraft Labor Category System Administrator III (SA3) requirements
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience: * Master’s level degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
* Seven (7+) years of full-time professional experience working with the configuration, deployment, and operation and maintenance of Linux server operating systems
* At least five (5+) years specific experience in managing Red Hat Linux and Ubuntu
* At least two (2+) years administering High Performance Computing Clusters
* At least (2+) years of professional experience in Linux administration in Cloud environments
