We are looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer to become a member of the Cloud Operations team.
This individual will focus on cloud and solution administrative efforts in support of operational excellence for our Cloud Environments and Infrastructure.
They will perform operational tasks including (but not limited to) overseeing system automation tasks, system planning, support, and monitoring, platform monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
They will contribute to the design and implementation of operational procedures and policies.
What youll be doing:
Maintain system software to latest versions and patch release levels
Support platform technologies, tools, and assets
Proactively monitor environment utilizing best practices
Learn other technologies as necessary to maintain and support other application platforms
Maintain and upgrade customer databases and underlying technologies
Use and propose enhancements to deployment pipelines with orchestrators such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins
Use and propose enhancements Infrastructure as Code configurations with Terraform
Perform Unix/Windows server and application instance management
Monitor and report on capacity for both organic growth and new business to the environment
Maintain operational, configuration and other procedures
Expand knowledge of programming techniques and databases
Evaluate and recommend third party products to address current requirements
Work to continually to develop and improve processes, methodologies, and approaches
Perform application release deployments and provide continuous process improvement for application releases
Learn from continuous improvement.
Share knowledge and mentor other team members.
Monitor and Resolve incoming support related work items and partner as needed other team members
24/7 On-Call support on a rotational basis, every 5th to 8th week, depending on current team and schedule dynamics.
Were looking for:
Demonstrated experience with most Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as: EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, Autoscaling Groups and Spot Instances, EKS, AWS networking fundamentals (VPCs and peering, NAT Gateways, public and private addressing), SSM, Kinesis and Firehose, Elasticsearch and CloudFormation
Experience with cloud delivered operations
Experience in migrating from on-premises technologies to cloud-native technologies
Experience in Linux and Windows administration, support, and build in a cloud environment
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and processes such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Exposure to fundamental Java (Apache Tomcat) and .Net Core code and applications
Operational experience in Java, Apache Tomcat, Shell and Python scripting, DBMS supporting MS SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
and support of file systems and database files
Experience with orchestration and teaming in a DevOps culture
Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or related fields, or experience
Must have 5+ years related work experience in most Core Competencies
Experience with teaming in an Agile or DevOps culture
Must be detailed and process oriented.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
