Role:
Join our Regional Solution Center of North America (RSC NAM) GIS Solutions team, delivering customized solutions on the ESRI GIS and ArcFM Solution, to electric, gas, water, and telecom companies around the world.
As a Cloud Architect on our RSC NAM GIS team, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and developing GIS SaaS-based solutions for the ArcGIS & ArcFM technology stacks.
The ideal candidate for this role will have prior experience creating and evolving SaaS and Cloud strategies, architecting and developing Cloud hosting and maintenance plans for enterprise-level customers, and possesses certified knowledge.
Primary Responsibilities
Collaborate with technology steering groups to architect and refine Schneider Electric’s cloud operating model, vision, and strategy.
Lead deep architectural discussions related to the use of Azure and AWS platforms.
Provide leadership implementing new solutions, migrating existing applications, software, and services.
Create strategies and blueprints for SaaS and hybrid cloud infrastructures, incorporating network, compute, storage, middleware, and cloud-native features.
Develop roadmaps for creating, supporting, and sustaining SaaS-based offerings through a sales, project, and maintenance lifecycle.
Evolve and drive automation capabilities by supporting and evangelizing a DevSecOps culture.
Conduct deep dive “hands-on” education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to internal customers.
Lead and provide guidance on technical architecture calls with external customers.
Lead the adoption of Cloud practices and drive their institutionalization.
Identify risk and mitigation plans associated with security, legal, data, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the development and innovation of internal processes and best practices.
Develop secure, digital onboarding/offboarding SaaS processes.
Consult on sales and delivery engagements as the Azure and AWS SME to discuss customer problems and guide solution conversations.
Present information, strategies, and solutions to internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems preferred, or related field with computer emphasis.
Other technical degrees considered in combination with experience.
Master of Science in CS or CIS on top of any BS or BA also considered.
Technical certifications in combination with experience also considered.
Advanced level Cloud architectural design and hands-on engineering experience.
Advanced level knowledge of, and experience with, network virtualization.
Advanced level knowledge of, and experience with, DevSecOps fundamentals.
Experience with strategic architecture and roadmap development.
Experience authoring technical documentation and presentations.
Overall familiarity with hardware infrastructure with a specific focus on storage platforms and technologies.
This includes sizing, design, deployment, configuration, and support for storage deployed for the purpose of hosting enterprise-scale virtual environments.
Cloud (Azure, Amazon AWS) certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or DevOps Engineer Certification
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional Certification (or equivalent)
Comfortable with travel (up to *35%).

Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell)
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, and partners, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner.
Preferred/Plus
Experience architecting or developing GIS software extensions/solutions.
Experience architecting or developing within the ESRI technology stack.
Experience integrating with ESRI and ArcFM solutions.
Experience working with electric, gas, water and wastewater, and telecom utilities.
