Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking highly motivated and experienced Cloud DBA to join our team in the DC Metro Area to support our government clients. The successful applicant will work closely with our clients to provide testing services that are of the highest caliber to ensure client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate must have cloud database engineering experience with both Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) in an enterprise cloud environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Cloud Architects to provide operations and migration services that enable VA to tailor the availability and delivery of cloud computing services based on business and technical requirements
- Engage with engineering teams to gather infrastructure and database platform requirements and transform them into functional solutions within the Azure and AWS
- Utilize the future VA Enterprise Cloud Operational Tools (VAECOT), CSP native portals and tools, and/or other VA TRM-approved tools necessary to provide operations and migration support
- Manage all aspects of Azure and AWS databases, instances, and storage, and Support day-to-day operations and management of an enterprise-level production
- Develop, manage and test installations, upgrades, replication, backup and recovery of current databases
- Monitors user access and performance of the database systems
- Helps to create best practices documentation for cloud database operations
- Participation in maintenance windows and on-call rotation is required
- Responsible for delivering Agile Stories and Features assigned by the TPM or TL and for participation in Scrums.
- Supports security-related efforts to attain Authorization To Operate (ATO) for the RASP Program
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to pass a background check to obtain a Public Trust
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline OR AWS/Azure Certification (AWS Associate Cert. OR Azure Associate / Intermediate Cert. OR AWS/Azure Certification) OR 2 years of relevant experience in one of the VAECOT suite of tools (Science Logic, Dynatrace, Turbot, AppDynamics).
- 6 years of additional relevant experience.
- A Cloud Analyst Intermediate must have experience with implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment.
- Should have subject matter expertise with either VAEC Cloud Service Providers, Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Nice to have skills/Qualifications
- Previous Federal Government experience
- Experience with cloud database technologies (ex: AWS RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, CosmosDB, MS SQL Azure, etc.)
- Experienced in automation and orchestration platforms (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.). Hands on experience designing and developing infrastructure and Database automation
- One or more Microsoft or Amazon cloud certification
- One or more database certification (ex: Oracle, Microsoft, etc.)
- Experience with Big Data concepts and technologies, especially using AWS or Azure (ex: MongoDB, Redshift, etc.); Data Lake experience a plus.
- Familiarity with Azure monitoring/logging (Power BI, Network Watcher, Azure Monitor), storage (NetApp File Service, Azure Storage, Azure Storage Archive Access Tier, Azure StorSimple, Azure Files, Azure Backup), etc. ).
- Familiarity and proficiency in all aspects of designing, sizing and implementing SQL instances, storage and RDMS for AWS storage (Cloud Tiering Service to S3 – NetApp, Simple Storage Service (S3), S3 Glacier), monitoring/logging (Quicksight, Eventbridge, Simple Notification Service (SNS), networking (Virtual Private Cloud, Route 53, API Gateway, Direct Connect etc.).
- Very solid experience of database administration in a cloud environment including experience with replication, clustering, and partitioning.
- Knowledge of indexes, index management, statistics, data-at-rest encryption, secure connectivity
- Experience writing technical documentation, especially in relation to Cloud architecture
- Agile and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience, or relevant Agile (Scrum, Kanban) experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in communications and documentation.
- Experience creating and presenting technical analysis, findings, and recommendations to leadership using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Desire to understand how things work
