Position Summary: The CAD CAM Programmer is responsible for preparing CNC programs for various equipment in a production environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare CNC programs for multi-axis CNC Milling, Drilling, Cutting, Punching and Forming equipment.
Work closely with shop floor personnel to debug and optimize the programs.
Primary interface between Engineering, Production Control, and Manufacturing.
Advise and assist in developing the manufacture of complex tools, interrelated mechanisms, and fixtures.
Make recommendations to designers and engineers for product design enhancements and manufacturability.
When required, work with customers to resolve CAD data technical issues to ensure total customer satisfaction and defect-free delivery.
Set up, operate and adjust all types of machine tools in performing complex assignments requiring a high degree of accuracy and precision on products having complex interrelated dimensions.
Assist the management functions with questions related to programs, set-up, and tooling used in the manufacturing process.
Handle various special projects as assigned by management.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Specifications:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to effectively communicate complex commercial or technical information.
Demonstrated proficiency with G-Suite, MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Proficient in AutoCAD 2009 or later.
Solid problem-solving skills.
Able to manage multi-task work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work proactively and independently on a broad variety of projects.
Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet job requirements.
Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED required; Associates Degree or Technical Certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience required.
AutoCAD, Sigmanest, Pronest, Merry Mechanization, or other CAD/CAM software experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
