ProTech is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer for a 12 month contract in Memphis, TN.

Position overview for Business Intelligence Developer :
A Business Intelligence Developer uses technical and analytic skills in partnership with business stakeholders to research, predict and solve existing business problems.

They will leverage their analytical skills throughout the entire end to end reporting process.

This includes advising on KPI and metric design choices, developing requirements, governance, data quality, creating data sets, creating dashboards, data analysis and support.

Candidates will be proficient in Microsoft Power BI, SQL, SSIS, and general data architecture.

Additional experience with Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Cosmos, and restful APIs is preferred.

Responsibilities for Business Intelligence Developer :

• Uses Microsoft Power BI to create certified datasets, and KPI dashboards.
• Guides partners in the design of dashboards that drive process improvements and automation.
• Acts as a data governance champion, and actively works to improve consistency, visibility and documentation across the organization.
• Represent the organization as a data expert, including the ability to talk to data analysis results in small group meetings.
• Assist super users with performance tuning, best practices, and modifications to existing reports and processes.
• Creates technical design documentation in adherence to business, source system, target report, and data quality requirements.
• Participate in the creation data sets for use across the organization and with 3rd part vendors using APIs and topics.
• Exhibits work consistent with the software development lifecycle, including Agile and Kanban.
• Works with end users to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Produces thorough technical design documents, test plans and documented results.

Summary for BI Developer Programmer :

• Gather requirements from Analytical Leads for building requirements (business and functional) for delivering various reportings not limited to: Microstrategy, Microsoft Office, web based applications and future technologies.
• Develop and deploy dashboards, visualization and autonomous/dynamic
• Optimize and scale production of report production and distribution to be autonomous and dynamic
• Work with the Data Management team to provide input on logical and physical database design; data modeling and/or mapping
• Generate large and complex data extracts and queries for the Analytical Leads for data analysis by utilizing SQL

Required Qualifications for BI Developer :

Four (4) year college degree in a technical discipline or related experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing, analyzing and troubleshooting SQL code in relational database management systems (RDBMS) especially MS SQL Server
Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing, analyzing and troubleshooting Web based Application developed in VB.Net or C#
Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing, analyzing and troubleshooting VBA, HTML, and javascript application
Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing, analyzing and troubleshooting SSIS packages and Store Procedures in a SQL environment
Experience in data modeling for a data warehouse especially MS SQL Server
Experience in data structure, algorithm, operating system and other fundamental Computer Science/Programming concepts
Minimum of 3 year working with business end users and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications for BI Developer:

Experience developing business intelligence solutions utilizing MicroStrategy in a data warehouse or data mart environment
Experience with development using API through REST/SOAP interface
Experience with MicroStrategy Data Mining Services, Distribution Service, OLAP Services, MicroStrategy SDK
Certification of Web based applications development or BI visualization tools.

Knowledge and understanding of Big Data warehouse such as Hadoop
Professional graphic design experience with strong graphic design portfolio, incorporating infographics and data visualization; experience in creating interactive charts and infographics extremely desirable
