We’re ranked 23 on the Engineering News Record list of “Top 400 Contractors.” And we’re proud to be a certified 2020 “Great Place to Work.” The Role The Business Development Director, Mission Critical is responsible for developing, enhancing and sustaining key relationships in the Mission Critical Sector that lead to construction management opportunities.

Identification and tracking of leads, research and creating capture or account plans to pursue work, and development and maintenance of a long-term strategy for priority accounts are key tasks for this role.

This individual sits within the Client Services department, along with other members of the business development team, but will also have constant contact and collaboration with the Mission Critical Operations team members.

Responsibilities Partner with Vice President, Mission Critical and Operations team to develop a long-term strategy for expansion of the mission critical sector, both regionally and nationally.

Identify qualified opportunities through the development of strategic relationships with architects, engineers, developers, and owners.

Introduce contacts to mission critical operations team to expand Suffolk relationships and potential opportunities.

Critically apply market and business sector knowledge toward the formation of pre-qualified opportunity and client lists.

Develop and execute against detailed account plans.

Develop and execute against detailed agency/association membership plans to maximize development of industry relationships.

Actively manage customer relationship management database (CRM) and provide weekly updates to leadership.

Work closely with National and Regional Marketing departments to ensure consistency of brand message and unique value proposition for Mission Critical work.

Support the company’s response to requests for proposals and bid opportunities once qualified opportunities have been identified.

Support preparation of document package with the Pursuit Management Team and project team for the interview phase.

Actively participate in the development and execution of sector long-term strategic plans.

Translate corporate strategy into a comprehensive business development and capture plan for the sector.

Analyze data and metrics to drive sector goals Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 6-10 years of experience in business development or marketing with direct experience in mission critical/data centers sector.

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
