Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) P-8 Poseidon program, which is the premier Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) platform for the US Navy and several international partners, is currently P-8 Software Test Engineer looking for a Software Verification Engineer to join their team in Kent, WA.
In this position, you will be responsible for verification of key capabilities such as weapons integration, sensor integration, data fusion, tactical data links, Operator Machine Interface (OMI), as well as verification of the software execution environment for the platform, Simulation and Trainer support software.
Recent contract awards have enabled team expansion and growth.
This franchise program is anticipated to continue to be a stable program for the foreseeable future.
Position Responsibilities:Designs, develops and executes verification procedures for Mission Systems, Simulation or Trainer Support softwareDevelops use cases for software requirements and verificationDevelops and conducts integration and verification procedures for dry runs and formal qualification testsParticipates in peer reviewsDevelops root cause analysis and correction for delivered productsSupports system test, aircraft delivery, and ground and flight-based test eventsServes as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations This position allows telecommuting.
The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.
Security Clearance for which the U.S.
Government requires U.S.
Citizenship.A final U.S.
Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree2+ years of software engineering Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Software written in Java (preferred), C++ or CLinux or Windows development environmentsObject Oriented DesignSpecific scripting languages: XML, Pearl, PythonAgile software development processesUse case developmentProtocols: Networking, Serial, Device I/O, Wireless CommunicationVerification of Training software and User Interface designTroubleshooting H/W and S/W issues in a complex environment Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.
Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.
PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
