Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking an F/A 18 Embedded Software Engineer (Level 3) to join the F/A 18 Applications Development Team within the F/A 18 Mission Systems organization in Berkeley, MO.

This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) businessorganization.

At Boeing, our software engineers use their expertise to dream up next-generation software capabilities for some amazing aerospace platforms.

We develop cutting edge sensors and mission systems, high bandwidth communication systems, large-scale simulation systems, space and satellite systems, airplane and weapons flight controls, cyber security solutions and much more.

The F/A-18 program is seeking engineers to staff emerging needs in the areas of Mission System software engineering.

This team will be responsible to develop state of the art mission system software applications from requirements through the delivery to the external customer.

This position will be responsible for F/A-18 applications development and it is an excellent opportunity to work with the latest technology to develop various mission systems application software.

This software position is a senior position.

In this role, you will be part of a multi-disciplined team of engineers that take pride in developing, integrating, testing and delivering innovative solutions to a variety of challenging customer needs.

Position Responsibilities:Leads activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systemsLeads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software systemDevelops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are metLeads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metricsTracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standardsTrains and mentors others.

This position allows telecommuting.

The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at least 2 days a week at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)Bachelors Degree or great in a technical field of studyPrior experience developing software in C++Experience working in an Agile Software Development environmentHands on experience developing on the Linux platform and Windows Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Hands on experience developing on VxWorksPrior working knowledge of ContainerizationExperience in embedded Software Architecture/Development/DesignPrior working knowledge or experience with Service Oriented Architecture and Microservice Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience)In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard Travel: Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.
