Role-Cloud/Networking Administrator
POSITION OBJECTIVE/GENERAL PURPOSE
Provide administration and support to telecommunications infrastructure, server environment,
desktops, and business applications.
Build, configure, and maintain internal and/or external
network infrastructures.
Develop and maintain all systems, applications, security, and network
configurations.
Troubleshoot network performance issues; create and maintain disaster
recovery plan.
Recommend upgrades, patches, new applications, and equipment.
Provide
technical support and guidance to users.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Administer servers, infrastructure, and tools (on-premise and cloud) including:
o Maintain and update configuration of Windows, Active Directory,
IIS, InTune, MS365, and SQL Server in on-premise and Azure environments
o Build and deploy servers and environments as needed
o Ensure storage needs are met
o Ensure appropriate backups exist
Analyze existing networks and equipment; diagnose problems, identify opportunities
for improvement; develop and recommend solutions to improve management processes,
systems, and organizational results and meet business requirements
o Ensure standard operating procedures are maintained
o Follow change management and communication protocols
o Enforce security policies
Follow documented policies and procedures to setup, configure, and maintain firewalls,
endpoint security, and vulnerability detection tools
Participate in the selection, installation, upgrade, and support of business applications
Assist with desktop/device support and Tier 1 business application support
Review, analyze, evaluate, and maintain telecommunications infrastructure (internally
hosted and third-party hosted) to meet current and future performance requirements, fault
tolerance, reliability, scalability, and availability; design, develop, and test telecommunications
software solutions
o Provide customer training of telecommunications features and functionality
o Install, repair, and maintain telecommunications equipment; ensure equipment runs at
optimal levels; perform routine repairs and maintenance
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:
o Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
o Mentor and guide other IT staff as needed
o Know, understand, and follow employee guidelines, employment policies, and
department or company procedures
o Work schedules as required including working remotely, evenings and/or weekends
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED OR PREFERRED)
Bachelors degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and progressively
responsible work experience in related area required
MCSE, MSITP, CCNA or other technical certification preferred
ITIL certification preferred
Work Experience (including computer skills):
Minimum of 5 (five) years experience in similar role required demonstrating:
o Experience with configuration, administration, and monitoring of Intel-based servers,
operating systems, TCP/IP firewalls, and Ethernet switches, protocols, and standards
required
o Experience managing and administering Windows desktop environment required
o Experience managing and administering telecommunications systems required
o Experience supporting enterprise-level server based applications in a service desk or call
center capacity required
o Experience managing and maintaining Windows server environment
Intermediate proficiency administering cloud-based servers, appliances, and applications
required
Intermediate proficiency with IOS and other Cisco operating systems required
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Windows server family including but not limited to Active
Directory, Group Policy administration, IIS required
Basic proficiency in MS SCCM, InTune, or similar tool required
Basic proficiency in MS SQL Server required
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required
