Job SummaryThe “Lead – SQL Server Database application DBA” is responsible for the project management, strategic direction, performance, reliability, and scalability of the organization’s current MS SQL Server database environments as well as the design, construction, and population of our new technology database schemas/environments.

From a day-to-day perspective the DBA is responsible to drive efforts to implement and/or refine operational and business continuity processes such as replication, availability groups, mirroring, backups and high availability.

Project assignments as assigned by Manager.

Additionally, will be tasked with supporting our production and development MS SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability, recovery security and utilization.Key ResponsibilitiesThe “Lead– SQL Server Database application DBA” shall be responsible for leading a team of SQL Server DBA professionals, providing leadership in design, architecting, maintaining, securing and providing on-call support for HA database systems (On-Prem and Cloud)Subject matter expert in MS SQL ServerProvide leadership in creating roadmaps and future state architecture of SQL Server platform collaborating with stake holders and business partners.Participating proactively in daily stand-up meetings, story grooming sessions, team retrospectives, suggesting and implementing improvements.Collaborate with vendors and internal team in the assessment of new technologies and their operationalizationResearches emerging trends and new technologies to identify potential improvements; develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT database related spending and initiatives.Adapts communication approach for audiences at multiple internal and external levelsBuilds long-term relationships within team and amongst peers by creating an environment of safety and innovationLead and mentor Associates and Influences peers through change by using one’s self as an example.Develop and deliver innovative solutions and systems in support of Enterprise goals.Anticipates issues and develops preventive measures.Collaborate with clients, service providers and peers to successfully deliver on business commitments.Partners with others in their organization to set and manage expectations; continually seeks opportunities to be a thought partner and increase internal business partner satisfaction and deepen relationships.Negotiates solutions for issues that may be complex or controversial.Ensure performance, security, scalability and availability of enterprise MS SQL databases.Identify opportunities for improved performance in SQL operations and implementations.Design, implement and monitor disaster recovery plans as it pertains to the production database environment.Perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate and correct data and database issues.Give design recommendations for database functions that meet business operating standards while improving the efficiency of business processes.Strong TSQL and PowerShell knowledge; able to write and read as well as diagnose,develop and troubleshoot scripts.Performs other duties as assigned Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience⦁ 10 years of experience in MSSQL Server in an enterprise level environment.⦁ MS CertificationCertified in Cloud technology (AWS/AZURE)Lead level expertise in MSSQL database platform Functional CompetenciesAbility to lead a technical team.Ability to identify, recommend, drive, and “own” projects and initiatives.Strong people and thought leadership; ability to develop, mentor and coach othersStrong communication (oral and written) & presentation skills combined with the ability to influence others at different levels of leadershipDemonstrated and foster a sense of urgency, strong commitment and accountability for achievingHigh level of personal accountability for the continuity and improvement of the organization’s database environments, data, and processes.Self-motivation with a strong work ethic.Superior troubleshooting skills, inquisitiveness, and the ability to preemptively resolve problems.Experience with managing large-scale, complex database environments supporting complex/critical applicationsCompensation DataCompensation range for this position is $91,800 $125,600 per year, based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.Good Work.
