Strong written and verbal communication skills including typing and phone use.

Experience or education in Excel and Word.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, printers, copiers, fax, scanners, and standard office equipment common to a program office environment.

Good prioritizing skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Must be dependable, accurate, and maintain confidentiality.

Ability to maintain a positive, upbeat attitude.

Current vehicle liability insurance and a valid driver’s license required.Essential Functions:
· Provide secretarial support assistance to the Human Resources Department including forwarding daily communications (phone calls, emails, inter-office mail).
· Assist Coordinators and Directors with YFS personnel policies & procedures.
· Assist to recruit for open positions internally and to appropriate outside sources (for all personnel including students, interns and temporary employees): SDDOL, area newspapers, area colleges/universities, Regional Head Start, social media, various employment websites and additional sites requested from the hiring supervisors.
· Review, screen, and enter employment applications into eFile Cabinet/Rubex.
· On a daily basis, follow up with the hiring supervisors and HR staff regarding each applicant’s status.
· Assist hiring supervisors with conducting reference checks for top candidates.
· Work with the hiring supervisors to create and send appropriate reply letters to applicants.
· Process background checks including initial and 5-year checks such as central registry screening, sex offender registry screening, and fingerprinting (DCI/FBI/Child Care Licensing Golden Ticket).
· Process the Federal Motor Carrier Administration (FMSCA) CDL Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse initial queries for prospective employees/CDL drivers and annual queries for all currently employed CDL drivers.
· Process pre-employment and 4-year check physicals.
· Conduct new hire orientations, enter information into ezHR, and process paperwork through efile cabinet for all new employees.
· Enter new hire information into the Online SD Department of Labor database.
· Ensure new hire employment verification documents (i.E.

I-9 Form) are accurately completed, entered into the online E-Verify system, and retained for required timeframe.
· Assist to process the benefits paperwork.
· Scan credentials and evaluations and attach credentials and evaluations into eFile Cabinet and ezHR.
· Assist to coordinate annual benefit renewal rate meetings.
· Assist to schedule Leader Development (HR)/Leader Dialogue (CEO) meetings.
· Train new hiring supervisors how to access applicant information in eFile Cabinet.
· Daily or at minimum bi-daily, provide updates to HR Coordinator on the assigned tasks related to their area of expertise.
· Maintain detailed, written step-by-step instructions on job responsibilities.
· Act in accordance with purpose, philosophy, values, goals, policies, and procedures of YFS.Additional Functions: Maintain a professional and cooperative attitude with all agency staff and the community.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the HR Coordinator.Environmental Functions: Perform duties in a controlled office environment.
