HDR is currently in need of a Austin Water Resources Team Lead to work as a member of our Central TX Water Business Group. 

The primary duties of the Austin Water Resources Team Lead are:

• Under the supervision of the Water Resources Section Lead, provide leadership and team guidance for HDR’s water resources projects as well as collaborate with Project Managers and Client Account Managers to develop and deliver water resources projects for clients.
• Perform supervisory duties for some of the water resources section staff including time/expense approvals, monitoring utilization, workload planning, annual performance conversations, and similar responsibilities.
• In collaboration with Water Resources Section Lead and Project Managers, coordinate and adjust staffing to ensure the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed to schedule and budget. 
• Work closely with the Water Resources Section Lead, Water Resources and Dams Market Sector Leads, Project Managers, and Client Account Managers.
• Manage projects and provide engineering support on projects.
• Engage clients and participate in professional organizations.
• Work closely with the project engineers, engineers in training and CAD/GIS professionals to prepare project deliverables including reports, and other technical documents.
• Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to provide integrated solutions and support business development opportunities.
• Perform QA/QC of internal and external deliverables
• Be responsible for identifying staff training needs or providing training as established by strategic plans and objectives.
• Recruit and retain project engineers, engineers in training, and CAD/GIS professionals
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or related) required.
• Texas Professional Engineer
• 8+ years of experience working on water resources projects
• Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
• Proven ability to lead technical efforts and collaborate with clients to develop new projects.
• Strong oral, written communication, and listening skills including good leadership and organization skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to complete tasks.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Experience in the Texas market is preferred
