Adams Publishing Group (APG) is a family-owned community newspaper company.

APG consists of 27 dailies, over 90 non-dailies, and collectively over 220 media-related products and associated websites in 20 states.This position reports to the East Division President/COO.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.Vice President of Human Resources for Adams Publishing GroupAdams Publishing Group (APG) is seeking a seasoned human resource professional to lead Human Resources with a direct leadership role in the eastern region of APG.

The position can be based in Coon Rapids, Minnesota or our offices in Maryville or Greeneville, Tennessee; Easton, Maryland or Venice/Port Charlotte, Florida.This position provides oversight of all human resources activities within APG including the East Regional group consisting of Tennessee and North Carolina with oversight into Ohio and Maryland.PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:Working closely with APG executives, managers, supervisors and employees to provide advice, counsel and leadership regarding policy, practices and decision-making for all HR issues and activities.These include: employee relations, communications, staffing and recruitment, diversity initiatives, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employment, organizational development, and safety.REQUIREMENTS:The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Human Resource Generalist or related position.SHRM, SPHR and other professional designations required.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.The successful candidate must have full working knowledge of all areas of human resources; be able to function with limited daily direction, be attentive to details, diplomatic, able to provide direction and counsel in HR.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
