Currently, we are seeking a Payroll Specialist.

Performs specialized entry level accounting functions such as maintenance of payroll related general ledger.

Analyzes financial data and prepares management reports.

Analyzes and resolves problems on all PlanSource software issues and formulates procedures to reduce future issues.

Oversees all payroll processes and garnishments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for processing all assigned payrolls.

Answer questions regarding paychecks, withholding tax issues or wage adjustments from employees and help troubleshoot possible issues with pay.
Maintain wage garnishments requests or judgements on employee’s paychecks.

Oversees the maintenance of garnishments; communications with court system to determine validity of court orders, ensures detail accuracy; determines proper payroll set-up; approves for payment.
Analyzes problems on PlanSource issues; make recommendations to both HR and PR on resolving these problems and formulates procedures to reduce the risk of future issues.
Reconciles payroll related general ledger accounts.
Coordinates time file uploads from distribution centers, calculates, and completes payroll runs; maintains and distributes payrolls, sends G/L to I/S.
Analyzes all data dealing with each payroll to verify accuracy.
Responsible for year-end accounting /payroll procedures.
Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent spelling, grammar, and written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of accounting principles.
Knowledge of state and federal tax laws.
Ability to create reports, write business correspondence, and create and update policies and procedures.
Basic knowledge of and ability in using various software applications, particularly MS Word and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documents and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and managers.
Ability to research and analyze employment and benefits issues and laws.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, procedures and processes, and government regulations.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
One to two years payroll processing and tax experience preferred.
Must seek continuous training and knowledge in order to stay abreast of changes in the Accounting and Payroll profession.
