EL AL Israel Airlines is interviewing for a Manager of Human Resources for its South Florida office. The primary responsibilities and requirements for the position are noted below. Job Role:
To provide appropriate, professional Human Resources services that enhances the performance of the business adding clear, measurable value to work group. This includes providing both Human Resources support as well as strategic advice to department leaders on people related issues and identifying and developing solutions that help them achieve their departmental business, objectives. In addition, the role holder will also work closely with the Sr. VP Americas on specific projects linked to the HR Action Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Resourcing
- Work with department managers to facilitate staffing and skill needs in line with budget and business strategy.
- Responsible for all attraction, recruitment and candidate selection
- Define role requirements and person specifications with the work units, includes developing and updating job descriptions
- Organize job postings (writing copy, deciding on most effective media)
- Liaise as required with recruitment agencies
- Arrange selection methods, prepare and offer roles, handle all on-boarding requirements
- Follow starters and leavers processes including giving constructive feedback to all candidates
- Conduct exit interviews and handle all out-processing for departing employees
Employee & Labor Relations
- Advise department managers on appropriate and consistent application of Company policies
- Ensure company and employees are compliant with required procedures and local labor laws in all jurisdictions; Federal (both USA & Canada) and State / Province requirements
- Ensure all Federal, State and Province requirements are met for record keeping and regular reporting (annual, quarterly and monthly submissions)
- Ensure company compliance with requirements and provisions of any collective bargaining agreements
- Manage employee payroll issues including monitoring salaries and standard of living conditions, making status changes, updating accounting department, etc.
- Participate in the development and on-going administration of all personnel policies
- Publish and maintain the Employee Handbook
- Assist department managers in creating a culture of trust
- Assist department managers with interpretation and application of all personnel-related policies and procedures including employee coaching, counseling, development and disciplinary action as necessary
- Assist department managers with succession planning and talent development
- Interact with and provide support services to company retirees in the region
- Collaborate with Home Office on developing and/or amending policies and procedures for the regional office
- Collaborate with Home Office to ensure that they are current on all labor laws and labor requirements within the region
HRIS and Benefits Management
- Manage Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and all employee record keeping
- Administer time and attendance programs including assisting with coaching and counseling
- Provide first point of contact for all HRIS and Benefits queries from the client group
- Administer all employee benefits programs to include insurance programs, savings programs, paid leave, and other provided benefits
- Interact with external benefits providers (i.e. insurance brokers, savings & pension plans, etc.) to ensure most favorable programs for the benefit of the employees and the company
Other
- Assist department managers with the administration of performance management programs
- Assist as necessary in restructuring and re-design projects
- Ensure all job descriptions are kept up to date and coordinate the Job Evaluation process for the client group
- Advise department managers on performance issues in line with current legislation and EL Al company policies.
- Advise on attendance management and lateness and the setting of clear performance improvement objectives via a Performance Improvement Plan
- Interact regularly with company consultants / lawyers on matters of labor law, immigration, pensions, welfare programs, etc.
- Manage all Workers Compensation cases, coordinating follow up with Company insurance providers as required
- Participate in the Local Emergency Response Plan as required
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years previous experience in HR management role
- Experience in managing benefits program (pension, 401K, insurance, etc.)
- Intermediate Health and Safety knowledge
- Experience in managing HR Information Systems
- Familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Previous experience in the airline / travel industry considered a plus
- Fluency in Hebrew also considered beneficial
